Pictorial report from Muttodi
Date: 27th, 28th June 2009
Place: Muttodi Nature Camp, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Chikkamagalur, Karnataka, India
Team: Sangeetha, Ravee, Avi, Padmaja, Anagha, Aditi and Madhukara
Thanks to Ravee. We were introduced to some of the Orchids. This one was spotted on the way up towards Shige-kaan.

These three White-bellied Treepies (Dendrocitta leucogastra) perched on top of the denuded tree, visible at eye-level as we climbed up towards Shige-kaan. Light was low and I clicked in a hurry for a record shot, at ISO 400. By the time I thought I could manage with ISO 100 without shake, few Malabar Parakeets flew in and chased these birds away :o)

This image was taken on the way to Shige-kaan. Taken with D300 and 50mm Nikor lens.

Sangeetha spotted this near the Muttodi Nature Camp early in the morning. Avi gave me a macro-filter.

As we watched the spider, a bee got into the web and the spider got busy tightening its trap around the prey. I set the exposure compensation to "-5 step" (the lowest available in D300) and used flash to get this effect.
