Nannaj memories

It is nearly a year I visited Nannaj grasslands to watch the Great Indian Bustards. It had rained just the previous night and a flock of GIBs had flown in. Found it difficult to take images of GIBs and blackbucks. It was a different situation, sitting inside the hut looking all around for the birds.

Posting some of the images here. Though these images are not good in image quality, they appear to have a different aspect, and they appeal to me more than some of the very good images I have digiscoped.

Bustards & Blackbucks
I am impressed with the details seen on the Bustard in the foreground, and the number of animals in the background, considering the distance from which the image was taken.

Bustard in the rains
This is my favourite of the Nannaj trip. I love the rainy setting here. The excitement of seeing these magnificent creatures of the grasslands is vivid in my memories.

Nannaj - A wonderful grassland habitat

Blackbucks in the grass
Blackbucks - They kept playing hide & seek in the grass

Bustard - A canvas
This image appears more of a canvas to me. The rain had just stopped. The ground were wet. The murky brown of the ant-mound, the golden grass, green of the small plants...

Colours of the grassland
Again... the colours... rain had just stopped and it was all humid around... see the black rocks soaked in the rain.

Bustards - Male & Female
Bustard - female and a male : After a while, got to see two female GIBs as well. There was happiness all around.

Colours of Nannaj
There is nothing special in this image. It is the different shades of green, red, and the blackbucks in the foreground which appealed to me. One of the images I liked very much from this Nannaj trip.
