Few Finches and Water Birds

Gave an unplanned visit to Kommaghatta tank near Kengeri on 24th May 2009 with a friend. Traced the same West bund of the tank looking for birds. No showers, specifically a bright evening - even in birdwatching terms.

I got to see good number of birds, while my friend was busy shooting dragon flies. Here are some of the images I could manage:

Small Blue Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
This was a fluke shot. Light was very bad. Just took a chance at ISO 400. Never expected image as good as this.

Red Munia (Amandava amandava) - female
